Your Universal Adventure!!!
Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are 2 TOTALLY opposite parks. Believe me, if you get them mixed up, you may end up very disappointed. Both parks share a huge parking garage that leads into an area called City Walk. This is a group of nightclubs and restaurants offering a variety of nightlife choices, including Nascar Cafe, Emeril's, a jazz club, a latin club and restaurant, a dance club, movie theater and lots more. As you head through this area, you will come to a fork in the path. If you take a sharp right, you will head into Universal Studios. If you veer to the left slightly and over a bridge, you will head into Islands of Adventure. Both parks are a ton of fun, but offer very different options!!!

Universal Studios-Ride the Movies This park is themed after the California park. Most of the rides are movie based, allowing you to step into some of the classic movies of our time. Most of the rides in this park are suitable for any age. They are mostly slow- moving exhibit type rides, however, this does not lessen their appeal for older kids. If you like movies, you will love this park.

AND for tired moms and dads, there is a huge play area on the left hand side of the park towards the back. THIS is where Barney lives...A good tip...use this area as a reward for a well behaved child...like the carrot dangling in front of the horse...BUT be sure to leave at least an hour or two to explore this area. There is a toddler's area in the Barney complex, a Feivel water playground, a Curious George play area, and a Woody Woodpecker kiddie rollercoaster.

For those NOT traveling with kids, there is still plenty here for you! Lots of stores, an Irish pub, some great shows and some pretty cool rides. For more in depth tips and hints check out the menu bar to the left!

Islands of Adventure Islands of Adventure is a park filled with themed thrill rides. For kids who are tall enough to go on most of the rides (some are 48' some are 52') this is like the ULTIMATE theme park. Here you will find several areas called Islands that contain a wide array of rides and attractions.

Marvel Superhero Island which has one of the most amazing coasters I've ever ridden( and I'm a fanatic) a great freefall ride, a cool arcade AND, what is possibly THE best ride EVER-Spiderman!!! (More info on this on the tips page)

Toon Lagoon, which is themed around the Sunday comics, has some great life size statues of the classic comic characters, great for photo ops. Rides in this area are Bilge Rat Barges, a Popeye themed river raft ride, fast and furious, a small play area, and Ripsaw Falls a log flume themed around Dudley Do-Right.

From here you will enter Jurassic Park complete with music. Here you will find a great play area, a log flume and an animatronic triceratops.

Onto the next Island where you will find an inverted set of intertwined rollercoasters, a bar with, like, a billion types of beer, (OK I'm exagerating, but I guaruntee you'll find one you've never had before!) and 2 shows. (one is phenomenal check the tips page)

Last but not least is Seussland. This entire area looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book. You have to see it to believe it!. Though the 3 rides here are geared toward small kids, anyone who's read The Cat in the Hat will love the ride!!

Want to stay here??? The people at Universal have gone above and beyond the call of duty in creating a fabulous hotel on their property. Portofino has been designed to resemble the waterways of Venice and is absolutely GORGEOUS. It just opened in 1999 and has beautiful rooms and courteous service. One of the perks of staying here is early entrance into the park. As a hotel guest, you get access to the park an hour before anyone else! This can be a MAJOR plus in making your day a little more pleasant! Check out the link page for a connection directly to the Universal site and more info!
